If you haven't seen anybody out and about in leather
yet, you soon will! With high-shine fabrics making their presence felt and the
cleaned-up punk look also very popular, don't be surprised if short leather
kilts start to appear on the high street as well as in the fashion magazines.
Of course, if you're dipping into the punk look, you might want to pair your
kilt with some leather
ankle boots and a pair of braces. Not that
ankle boots are only suitable for punk fashion; they're versatile enough to add
the perfect finishing touch to a whole range of styles.
If punk isn't your thing, but you still want to make a statement with leather, there are some great leather coats, with a long, lean look, that will let you take a step towards the on-trend gothic look. Pair a knee-length black leather coat with a long leather skirt for that extra commitment to gothic styling. Don't forget to complement the look with dark eye make-up and a pale face.
One of the biggest trends this autumn and winter is for leather trousers, which are appearing in a range of fittings to suit your shape, size and taste. As well as the close-fitting look we're all used to, designers are branching out into soft, very baggy leather pants that can look chic with heels or grungy with boots! While layering is one of the looks of the season, there are no hard and fast rules for making leather work for you and you can have any colour you like - as long as it's black!
